http://www.connexionbizarre.net/webcast.htmReleasesVarious - You Are Here: a Compilation of California Electronics (vol.1)Free online release showcasing a variety of musical talent from the underground electronic music scene of the US state of California. Compiled by California-based artist Shane Talada
alias The Operative. Volume 1 of 2.
http://www.connexionbizarre.net/releases/n_cb007_va_yahacoce1.htmInterviewsF.K.L. and Fleur Feijen - Baxter LillyHailing from Brussels, the three protagonists of this electro-industrial carnival aim to take listeners on a noisy trip to a deranged industrial funfair inhabited by psychotic clowns. Thanks to them, the greatest show on Earth has just reached a new level of derangement.
http://www.connexionbizarre.net/interviews/m_baxterlilly.htmReviewsReutoff vs. Troum - Kreuzung Zwei (Creatura Per Creaturam Continetur)Reutoff is working on a series of collaborations entitled "Kreuzung", and after the first one - where they worked with Antlers Mulm - and before the third one (Reutoff vs. Der Blutharsch), there is this brilliant second one in which Reutoff vs. Troum present "Kreuzung Zwei (Creatura Per Creaturam Continetur)".
http://www.connexionbizarre.net/reviews/r_reutoffvstroum_kz.htmAndrea Marutti - The Subliminal Relation Between Planets (Live in Archiaro)A dark but serene journey on waves of low droning sound with cascading chimes, vaguely coherent voices and other miniscule sounds carefully assembled to form a hypnotic sonic bedrock. Often resembling a deep dark ocean bed with an ever present bassy drone, each track holds a certain sub-aquatic charm of tiny chinks of sound, both melodic but strangely distant and unseen.
http://www.connexionbizarre.net/reviews/r_andreamarutti_srbp.htmContagious Orgasm & C-drík - Journeys Into Space And TimeGritty and noisy, this release also has the ability to pummel the listener, which isn't surprising since one half of the act is Contagious Orgasm. C-drík lifts Contagious Orgasm just when needed gives this album a certain ease of listening when it could get a little too loud. An intriguing and intense listen for those who like their music dark and potent with a fair range of depth.
http://www.connexionbizarre.net/reviews/r_contagiousorgasmcdrik_jisat.htmC-drík/Aluviana - Moje ČeloWith statements that both artists have done this with a fair share of humour one may wonder if this duo is completely stark raving bonkers. Either way, funny side or not, this is professionally done and a sure-fire winner for fans of proper old industrial and dark ambient purists. A fine, disturbing listen from start to finish.
http://www.connexionbizarre.net/reviews/r_cdrikaluviana_mc.htmV/A - HyperakusisA neat little compilation, though not one that's going to set the world alight, and nor is it one for the casual listener. If you are into odd electronics, the organic sound of ambience and approach sound with an extremely alternative ear this is one for you.
http://www.connexionbizarre.net/reviews/r_va_hyperakusis.htmLaurent Perrier - As Far AsSaying Perrier writes obscure music is an understatement. It's a risky business producing what he has here, and more credit to him for trying. "As Far As" is by no means brilliant, dangerously teetering on overstating itself, but it's also a decent release if you are after an extremely strange album.
http://www.connexionbizarre.net/reviews/r_laurentperrier_afa.htmLife Towards Twilight - An EclipseLife Toward Twilight are a surprise in that it's most likely the first time anyone heard an ambient act from Detroit (these things are usually confined to the darkest depths of Europe, which has the upper hand generally in these circles). Fair to say though Life Toward Twilight play a strong hand and hold up fairly well in the grand scheme of things from the start.
http://www.connexionbizarre.net/reviews/r_lifetowardstwilight_ae.htmNiko Skorpio - Half Born In Half LightThere are certain stages of this CD where a genuine atmosphere is created, giving space to the drones and atmospherics, carried by the reverberation of the odd tribal beat followed by simply crushing guitar sounds. When it's done well it's fantastic, but that is simply too few and far between.
http://www.connexionbizarre.net/reviews/r_nikoscorpio_hbihl.htmRachMiel - Vortex EngineIt is obvious that RachMiel is a technically competent and well-versed experimental composer and sound designer. A good amount of thought and arrangement has gone into the pieces on "Vortex Engine," however the reward for its audience is dubious.
http://www.connexionbizarre.net/reviews/r_rachmiel_ve.htmtBH - Book of SalmsIt's not often that the cover artwork of an album matches the music quite as well as in the case of tBH's "Book of Salms". The desolate loneliness in the grainy, sepia-toned empty landscapes mirrors exactly the musical entropy enclosed within these five deep, meandering journeys through musical melancholia.
http://www.connexionbizarre.net/reviews/r_tbh_bos.htmBrand New Day - StyleOne can't really t help but think that even synthpop aficionados will turn up their noses at this one.
