we015 - Anton Mobin - LONDON - a field memory (47.1 MB)

Download Tracks:

Track 01 - Warmly quiet (16.4MB)

"Quiet and warm" are the merits of the small English hotels.
It was the case for this situated hotel meadows of Victoria station where I thought recorded by the scenes of life, to meet people; it will be nothing. I not there found that the out-of-theway peace and recorded exclusively elements in vibration (ventilation, the humming of the underground resounding in the bathroom), objects being in the room, as well as my movements were minutely analysed in corridors and staircases of this hotel.
Finally I had to go out of the hotel to smoke...

Track 02 - Music & Tradition (9.01MB)

The music is everywhere in London.
In the underground, in the streets, in the pubs and in the parks.
The traditions also and they feed the delicate contrast of this modern city.
This part of the soundwork consists of a wide admixture of diverse London' aspects.
Where people play tennis to Warwick square before going to work,
While the squirrels eat in your hand to Hyde park.

Track 03 - Ferry Tale (14.1MB)

The muddled voices play a sonic contradiction to compose a phase of fear from an element cheerful. In this case, a recording of a farcical game with participation of the public in Apple market; modified, accelerated, superimposed, returns this joyful moment of life in disturbing situation.
Once warnings and safety instructions were expressed, it is good to arrive on the deck of the Ferry, the enormous monster of metal challenging the ocean on some kilometers. Feel the power of the steel moving without restraint and listening to the wind rushing into the slightest hidden recess of the boat.

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: THE EMPTY SPACE COMPILATION RELEASE ON THE WANDERING EAR NET.LABEL

.

Midwest Society for Acoustic Ecology and The World Listening Project are seeking submissions for The Empty Spaces, a compilation release on the Wandering Ear netlabel. Launched in 2006, Wandering Ear is dedicated to releasing field recording-oriented audio from around the world. The concept is deliberately open-ended to accomodate the unexpected. Co-curated by Nathan Larson and Mike Hallenbeck, all Wandering Ear releases are available for free download by individual track or as a zipped file containing all tracks under a Creative Commons License for personal use.

www.wanderingear.com

.

THE EMPTY SPACE
.

Empty spaces, destitute of activity,

Once inhabited, teaming with life, leaving traces…

in the earth, on their walls, in the air

Empty places… abandoned or never inhabited

a sonic odor, once removed

remains etched in the subconscious

.

The Empty Space is an invitation for new or existing field recordings and field recording-based audio submissions that explore the sonic qualities of the Empty Space. All tracks of this CD-length compilation will be exclusive to the Wandering Ear site and will be available for free download for non-commercial use under a Creative Commons License.

Submissions must have field recordings as a substantial element, but could include montages, audio manipulation, voiceover, narration, etc.
Submissions may be no more than 10 minutes duration, recommended length is 6-8 minutes.
Please send stereo 192 kbps MP3 format audio file, text description, bio, and image in a single zipped file via downloadable link or Yousendit to:

Christopher Preissing: preissing@gmail.com

DEADLINE: Submissions must be received by September 1 to be eligible for inclusion in the compilation.

NOTE: In the event that more submissions are received than can be included in the compilation, curatorial license will be exercised.

MYSTAHR (NL)

"Mystahr, a mad Dutch scientist that loves the knobs. Too soft for true noise, too noisey for experimentalism; its just powerfull.
Recently the album 'Nothing Near Distance' was released on HAK lofi and with it the artist arose from a quiet period.
No laptops will be involved, only some pure stompboxes and rather awkward and strange machinery that will pulse and drone deep into the night.
Weaving a tapestry of drones and pulses, interfered with pre-recorded tapes this promises to clean out your nostrils and earlobes to infect them with an infectuous sound that will long last in your system.
Mystahr is the same guy responsible for both the excellent weekly NTNS radioshows as well as the labelhead of Just not Normal.
If you know either, then you will know what to expect from this sound meister!"

SONIC SURGEON (Paris/FR)

http://www.myspace.com/atlanjack

OLoF NiNe (PT)

"Most of sound radiated by metamorphic structures is known as meta-structure sound. The discrete model is a non-abstract domain which is a basic element of structures. Each structure is excited at one point in the logical series. Damping is taken into consideration by using a proportionally damped model or a dashpot model. The dynamic response of the element is calculated by using the infinite method to obtain vibrational and sound energies. The vibrational and sound energy flow patterns, which are expressed by vector quantities of structural and sound intensities, are compared. The effects of the vibrational dissipation energy on the flow patterns of the sound energy are also denied and two types of flow patterns (S- and M-types) are processed."

ANTON MOBIN + PLANETALDOL (Paris/FR)

"Ne faites pas les hypocrites, dites la vérité.
Vous trouvez laid d'énormes appareils auditifs ?
Vous trouvez que les sourds ont une voix d'handicapés mentaux ?
Vous trouvez qu'ils font du bruit en mangeant parce qu'ils ne s'entendent pas, et ça vous énerve de répéter 10 fois la même phrase ?
Vous n'aimez pas vivre avec un invalide pauvre au chômage ?
Soyez honnête.
Je veux savoir..."

JNN097 Thanato Twist & Oleg’s sound system – Swing mastication

If the world of lo-fi IDM could find more oompf, this would be the place. A wealth of toys has been intergrated into these 10 tracks that will make your mind swirl and your body ache for more. Ofcourse it may just as well be possible that you’re not into such degraded toynoises. If that is the case, you certainly got lost and trapped in a world you needn’t be in.
Most likely you will thoroughly enjoy this recording of two giants in the world of experimental improv’ed music: Ayato and Kortane Cortex.

A review of their first album on Treetrunk records reveils this:

“Psychedelic blasts, vast explosions of noises, unbeat in the repetitions, celestial harmony torn. Plasma waves building the spatial scene of Bailarin noche. Slobbery beats and sweating melodies turn around our solar system. There’s no doubt ! The brain of the Thanato’s is lost in a somber meditation. Black hole. White noise. Ready to thrill on the drift ?”

This may as well have been the review of this current release; it is just breathtaking!

JNN095 Luis Antero – Website Story (2010)

Just not Normal now has its own first pure fieldrecordings album added to the roster. The amazing Luis Antero from Portugal has a special story to share; his website story. Be sure to check out the zipfile which contains awesome images from the various locations.

The first World Listening Day, which happens on Sunday, July 18, 2010.

The purposes of World Listening Day are:

To celebrate the practice of listening as it relates to the world around us, environmental awareness, and acoustic ecology; to raise awareness about issues related to the World Soundscape Project, World Listening Project, World Forum for Acoustic Ecology, and individual and group efforts to creatively explore phonography; and to design and implement educational initiatives which explore these concepts and practices.

World Listening Day is being organized by the World Listening Project, in partnership with the Midwest Society for Acoustic Ecology. July 18 was chosen as the date for World Listening Day because it is the birthday of the Canadian composer R. Murray Schafer, who is one of the founders of the Acoustic Ecology movement. The World Soundscape Project, which Schafer directed, is an important organization which has inspired a lot of activity in this field, and his book The Soundscape: Our Sonic Environment and the Tuning of the World helped to define many of the terms and background behind the acoustic ecology movement.

Classwar Karaoke - 0010

Citer
Founded in 2008, Classwar Karaoke is a label dedicated to the release of experimental music and short-films; principally, by means of a series of ongoing quarterly surveys, made available via sites such as internet archive, myspace, disclogs, youtube, lastfm, facebook, sonic squirrel, reverbnation, soundcloud etc., under Creative Commons license 3.0 creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/3.0/. All material remains the property of the respective artists and is offered for free download in line with this license. The nine surveys published so far feature almost one-hundred artists, from all over the world; and the material in toto represents significant documentation of the experimental scene itself. Involvement in the project has helped spawn many fruitful collaborations, live-shows and a vibrant exchange of ideas; so much so that, for several repeat-participants, Classwar Karaoke is as much a collective as it is a mechanism for the release of new material.

If you are interested in participating, please explore this myspace in the first instance in order to establish whether your material fits, stylistically and in terms of outlook, with that of the current survey. There are two methods of participation: either with a piece of music or a short-film. On rare occasions, we may invite both. Each method also includes an image and a piece of text. General enquiries, submissions of images and text should be sent to Anthony Donovan via a.donovan7@ntlworld.com Submissions of film should be sent to Adrian Beentjes via nada.zipp@googlemail.com Submissions of music should be sent to Jaan Patterson via cwk@phonoethics.com

You are invited to participate in the first World Listening Day, which happens on Sunday, July 18, 2010. The purposes of World Listening Day are:
to celebrate the practice of listening as it relates to the world around us, environmental awareness, and acoustic ecology
to raise awareness about issues related to the World Soundscape Project, World Listening Project, World Forum for Acoustic Ecology, and individual and group efforts to creatively explore phonography
to design and implement educational initiatives which explore these concepts and practices

July 18 was chosen as the date for World Listening Day because it is the birthday of the Canadian composer R. Murray Schafer. Schafer is one of the founders of the Acoustic Ecology movement. The World Soundscape Project, which he directed, is an important organization which has inspired a lot of activity in this field, and his book Soundscape: The Tuning of the World helped to define many of the terms and background behind the acoustic ecology movement.

Here is how you can participate in World Listening Day:
-You can set aside some time when you pay attention to your soundscape.
-You can organize a listening party when people play field recordings.
-You can organize a soundwalk.
-Other possibilities…

>>> Mon idée serait d'investir KKWNE toute la journée du 18 juillet avec playlists "field recs" + un live "A Maïzing session with..." + ...

MA QUESTION:

Est-ce que PiLaMi, JM, Riz et/ou d'autres seraient chaud pour faire une session NINJAM spéciale Field Recordings sur KKWNE, le meme jour (soit le 18 juillet) / planning a caler ?????????

:::::: about the automata ::::::

Automata_Sonoro_v001 (generative sound machina) is a software
programmed in Pure Data for generating real-time sound compositions.
It creates compositions from 7 small sound seeds (samples of 5-15
seconds) with which it generates 7 files of 1 min, to be with those
who play after, transforming and mixing them iteratively in a
mechanical evolution, growth and deterioration. Its based on the
Fractal model and somehow with more conceptual distance also inspired by the work of Alvin Lucier "I'm sitting in a room" 1969. All of this does not chase to carry out strictly fractal music, but born of an interest to know and experiment with these math-concepts and
strategies looking for a king of organic unpredicatability, noncontrol
and chaos with which creatively play during the live perfomance.

:::::: about Oscar Martin >> noish~

A sound explorer, he bases his work on the deconstruction of field
recordings and the creative use of technology errors. Luthier-digital
with a “pure data” environment, which he uses to develop his own
experimental tools for processing and real time algorithmic-generative composition. He can be placed somewhere between Computer Music, the aesthetics of error, and generative noise.

He seeks the creation of virtual sound universes, imaginary
soundscapes that encourage active listening and a different
sensibility toward the perception of sound phenomena.

He works under the open source paradigm. All his work is published under Creative Commons licence, by different recording labels and net labels (dronerecords, tecnoNucleo, costellam, etc.).

His music has been presented both as a solo artists (noise dreams
machina, noish~) and along with a variety of collaborative projects
(segmentation Fault with Xavi Manzanares, Mecanikas Moebius with Javier Marisco) in different spaces and national/international
festivals; Piksel.no (Begen-Norway), PdCon09 (Sãu Paulo-Brazil), VAD (Girona), LEM06 (Barcelona), LAC08 (Germany-Koln), Mastul(Berlin), De Player (Rotterdam), Maus Habitos (Porto), Remor0 (Girona), Distorsion (Mataro), MIDE-Arteleku (Donostia), LABoral-SummerLab (Gijón), Hangar (Barcelona), Ulterior09 (Madrid), etc.
